Youth In Transition Mentoring Services Offers:
- Services geared towards the development of youth males and females, ages 10-17, regardless of race, religion, creed, or background.
- Group and individual mentoring sessions.
- Enhance the competence and character of youth males and females by implementing a curriculum that will focus on character education.
- Educate and introduce biblical principles such as prayer, journaling, and character-building exercises, incorporating culturally diverse activities to foster ethical behavior.
- Encourage continued education beyond High School and High School Equivalence (HSE) status by assessing their individual talents/skills and applying these talents and skills to a career, in addition to matching them with appropriate professional referrals (Career Shadowing).
- Implement interactive workshops on various topics. Interactive workshops will coincide with an area of study (i.e., job readiness- application process, mock interviews, dress for success, and college readiness-FAFSA assistance, college funding, and college tours).
- Enhancing and developing their character by providing an open forum (Keepin' It Real, Respectful, and Clean sessions), which will assist with sharpening their verbal and written communication skills.
- Encourage and hold discussions on the importance of practicing abstinence through education on Physical Health, Hygiene, and Development.
- Strengthening communication and family units through relationship-building exercises and family events.
- Proactively encourage parent/guardian feedback and support. Conduct quarterly program surveys to evaluate efficiency.
- We aim to set the stage towards recognition and graduation.
